Monitoring Network of coral reefs in the Pacific
Withinthe network » Polynesia Mana » node, Gilles Siu, Thierry Lison de Loma and Yannick Chancerelle made samplings ichtyologiques, photographic coral statements and by manta tow for 7 sites in 2012. Here is the list with their specificities:
– Raiatea in February by renting the services of a diving club.
– Haapiti ( Moorea) in March with the means of the CRIOBE.
– Between 2 bays (Moorea) in May with the means of the CRIOBE.
– Christmas Island (Kiribati) in association with the MFMRD (Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources Development) for the rent of the boat and by renting the services of a diving club there. We also raised there a SBE26 probe.
– Tikehau in September by renting the services of a diving club and a fisherman there.
– Takapoto in October in association with the DRM (Direction of the Resources Marines) for all the means at sea.
– Nuku Hiva in December by renting the services( of a local diving club there. We also raised there a SBE26 probe.
We had to put back the monitoring of Nengo-Nengo in 2013 for logistic reasons of journey by air (the equipment of dive is on-the-spot, it remains only to find a means to go there, a priori in the end of February, 2013). A more detailed presentation of the results will be made in Executive Board by Gilles Siu.
